About Beaumont / Wilshire
Location- Beaumont Wilshire goes from NE 33 Ave, west to about 47 th Ave- with a little jog- then from Alberta and Prescott down to Morris and Wisteria. In the middle is Wilshire Park . It borders on the neighborhoods of Concordia to the north, Alameda to the west, Cully to the east , and Grant Park to the south.
This is a beautiful neighborhood of homes built from the early 1900's through the early 1950's- Tudors, Craftsman, Old PDX, Bungalows and Ranches! Most of them have quite a bit of character; like hardwood floors, big fireplaces with windows and built-ins. plus alot of them have built in hutches in the dining room and living room- and some have leaded glass doors and windows. The Alameda Ridge goes through part of Wilshire, which gives an awesome view of the city- and really gorgeous houses line both sides of it. Fremont runs through the middle of this neighborhood- and there are lots of good restaurants, coffee houses, bakeries and interesting shops you can walk to. Wilshire Park is almost 15 acres of beautiful trees, grass, trails, wading pool and sports fields. Beaumont Village is the hub of the business area- and is famous for it's Swiss House- a really cool Tudor style building on 42 nd and Fremont- which houses restaurants, shops and businesses.
